Do you have an actual employment contract?
What does it say about breaking it?
the contract only mentions training time. i needed to stay with the company for at least 3 months (the length of the training period) or i would need to pay a percentage (based on the % of the 3 months i worked) of the $800 it took to train me.
i worked for 5.5 months and now they are trying to say that i needed to have been working 6 months and i owe 25% of the $800 and are holding my last paycheck as my first payment towards that.
they have not yet given me the copy of the contract that i signed, but they have given me a letter stating that they are withholding my paycheck and giving me a payment plan to pay the rest. that letter got to me about a week to late for me to pay the first payment of that plan. that letter was complete with grammatical errors.
