Default How Long Must Somebody Register As a Sex Offender

My question involves expungements or pardons for the state of: Oregon

I am enduring a horrid situation with a roommate who attempted to sneak her boyfriend into our house. She has now unleashed the friends on me about how this guy who commited 4 counts of rape 2 but plead out on 1, how this guy who was placed on probation (not parole) for 10 years and all the other only having to pay restitution of 2500 bucks.. what I hear that is a cake walk. He violated 8 years later,, and has been skating all along. So now he is on parole for multiple violations.. our friends say.. oh poor guy it was so long ago... you must give him a chance to prove himself. One of his stipulations was no contact or associated at all with minors 14 years or younger.. nor peole mentally deficient.
Ok... so he hasnt paid off either restitution from counseling of sex offence, and or the hit and run where he drove into some poor schmucks business..
sorry I digress... this jerk is now spending tons of time within high schools.. and other basketball events.. we have two huge ones coming up both sponsored by our basketball team, the blazers.. only team in Oregon.
so my friends say give him a chance.. but how can I when he is breaking his terms and has not completed anything.... Question... how long must be register? Can he get it expunged? and the stipulation about not being around youth or mentaly deficent people?
    thanks

Default Re: How Long Must They Register As a Sex Offender

If he is in fact "in the system", he should appear on the website at
http://sexoffenders.oregon.gov/. If he failed to register as required, he'll be shown as "absconded/fail to register". How long he must register for depends on his sentence, as well as if registration was actually required of him.

If he's listed, RUN, don't walk, to school officials and yell and scream until somone listens and inform them that they have potentially retained the services of a RSO.
