17 Year Old Violated Probation with MIP

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

I am 17 years old and I have been on probation since right before christmas for stealing a $20 item. I was scheduled to be off by the end of next month (one or two months early from my original scheduled date). I went up camping about two hours away a few days ago and got a MIP - my first one.

For the past few months I have no longer needed to report to my officer but have been sending in updates every month.

Will my probation officer find out about this? Should I tell him/her?

What will most likely happen if he/she does?

Does it make any difference that the whole time ive been on probation I had kept a steady job and kept great grades?

Please help.

I have always considered it smarter to inform your PO than assuming that your PO won't find out.

They almost always do. And very few PO's think it charming to be surprised.

I called my probation officer and told her. She set up a meeting later this month. Any idea on whats going to happen?

I now have to appear before the Judge again. Any idea at all what will and could happen?

Ive already started my community service and Im starting a substance abuse group. Will that help the judge at all?
