F1 to H1B Transfer (H1B to F1 to H1B After Two Years)

Hello,

I worked on H1B for about a year before returning to school fulltime (changed to F1 visa) to get an MBA. Towards the end of the MBA, I found out that I would not be eligible for OPT because I used it after my previous masters degree. However, I was told that the only thing an employer will have to do is to file for an H1B transfer since I had been counted towards the quota before I started the MBA program.

Can you please explain how the process works and if there is anything I need to be worried about. Does it mean that I have 5 years left on my H1B (total) or was it active all along leaving only 3 years left. Will this still be regarded as sponsorship by the employer for employment or is the process easier.

It is my understanding that it has been active all along, so you only have 3 years left.
