My question involves a condominium located in the State of: Florida
I am a new condo owner. I own a condo on the 2nd floor. I recently had a water leak from the water heater in the unit above my unit on the 3rd floor. I had flooding on my hallway carpet and I had to spend $500 to fix it. However, when I contacted the owner above, he said he will pay for everything and asked me to get whatever damage fixed. Now, he changed his position and says that since it is not due to his negligience he denies any liability for this issue. Shouldn't he be responsible for the damage caused in my unit?
