    Default Are My Records Expunged?

My question involves expungements or pardons for the state of: Florida
I was convicted as a juvenile (1974) and received 2 years probation and paid restitution for my crime, and served no jail time. I was told then that my slate would be wiped clean after I became an adult. I am somewhat confused because I recently had fingerprint cards for background investigations sent to FDLE, KBI (for future employment in Kansas), and the FBI. FDLE and KBI has no record but the FBI does. Does that mean my records have been expunged? or is it just a matter of the conviction being old that it's no longer being kept with FDLE?

Thanks LawResearcherMissy. I do have another question, I applied for a firearm here in the state of Maryland about a few months ago and was denighed because of that conviction. However, the state patrol officer stated that if I can prove that I was convicted as a juvenile, I could possibly get the firearm approved. I received a copy of the conviction but it doesn't state whether or not I was a juvenile. Should I seek a pardon from the state of Florida for this crime (if so, who should I talk to) or is there another avenue of approach? Thank you in advance for your reply.

The conviction record doesn't identify the court?

    Aaron,

According to the FBI print out, the conviction does not ID the court (it only has COURT then a dash) but my agency case number ends with a "J" if that means anything. I was 17 at the time of th crime, should I contact FDLE to see if I were I was tried as a juvenile? Thank you.
