My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Michigan
Here's the case. A friend was driving my vehicle down a residential street. It was approximately 4am. He pulled over to the left (wrong) side of the road so we could stop to look at something that was being thrown out with the trash. I got out of the vehicle, proceeded to load an item, and upon returning to the passenger side of the vehicle, noticed a police car on the side. Two police officers got out and came to both sides of the vehicle and began questioning us. There is more to the but as far as this particular charge goes, they wrote up my friend for being parked on the wrong side of the road, and I wanted to know, what is the legal definition of being "parked" and does it sound like we could fight this? We were not even sitting there for longer than 2 minutes when all of this occured. The car was still running, and it was occupied by a driver.
