    Default College Expenses

My question involves child support in the State of: Indiana

Need some advice regarding advance planning for college expenses. I divorced 10 years ago, I am NCP, and the divorce settlement did not specify how college expenses would be handled, only that both parents would want their children to go on to attend university and that it would or could be discussed at a later date.
My ex has already started making comments about putting an agreement in writing regarding this issue. My daughter is 15(freshman in high school this fall) and my son is 12.
I am interested in knowing what my obligation is and how best to arrange(terms etc) such an agreement. Issues that will certainly be difficult for me is the mothers desire to keep the children close to home which I feel will be detrimental when my children are deciding what schools they want to attend, and that my ex will want CS to continue while they are in school, especially if they are close to home.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Your obligation is to discuss it.

The way you arrange it is to hire an attorney to help you so the best interests of the kids are handled.

I could be mistaken, but I believe in Indiana, you are required to pay cs for a certain amount of time (perhaps 4 years) if your child goes to college after hs, and stays in college.

You do want to help make it easier for them to go, right?
