My name was not removed from anything. I spoke with the lender and they said would have to refi in her own name in order for it not to be put against my credit report when she pays late. In their eyes, I am still responsible for the mortgage payment. In the divorce, I lost everything, and I dealt with that and moved on, and now she has the right to ruin my credit for the next 30 years or I have to pay it and keep taking her to court? I would like to be able to buy a house someday, but without getting out from under this house in both our names, I'm screwed.
Yes you are responsible for payment of the mortgage. If 30 years remain, then you are responsible.

You will NOT be able to purchase a house in the future if an open mortgage on your credit report has any 30 day late payments in the last 24 months. If she keeps falling behind then you will not qualify for a mortgage.

FHA requires NO late payments in the last 24 months.

Fannie Mae NO late payments on a mortgage in last 48 months.

Freddie Mac NO late payments on a mortgage in the last 36 months.

The VA NO late payments on a mortgage in the last 60 months.

Banks who keep their own paper. NO late payments on a mortgage PERIOD.

I know that this is NOT what you wanted to hear, but this is how it works, sorry.
