My question involves name change laws in the State of: Arizona
I would like to hyphenate my childrens names with their current name and hyphenate with their step-fathers. such as John Doe-Smith with Doe being their biological fathers last name and Smith being their step fathers. I would like to do this because it has become very hard to prove that i am the parent. My last name is not the same and it isn't hyphenated. Going to the doctor, getting medical records etc school and after school programs. I feel that it would be much easier to have their names hyphenated. As far as the biological father is concerned, he has voiced that he doesn't have a problem with this. Is this something that i can do with out having to go through an adoption process? Is it legal? What are the steps to start the process?
Thank you
