My question involves criminal law for U.S. Federal Court.
Hello, thank you for having an interest and before I get started thank you for your time.
Now, I have a question. I have a sentence im faced with in which I have not been caught with these drugs, yet some one else has and I am being brought into it due to Conspiracy. My problem is that I do not believe that I deserve to go to prison for 10years to life. This man was caught with approximately 3 vials of lsd. That is 300 unit doses. And in weight 4ml a piece(1ml=1gram), this raises a problem because in The Federal sentencing guild lines manual it states that for a 10yr mandatory minimum sentence for the offense of distributing more than ten grams of "a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount" of LSD. The 12 grams was used to determine the base offense level of a 10yr mandatory minimum. So what im saying is that I have been charged with something in actuality that only has like 30 milligrams of "pure lsd" and im being charged with an offence that is equivalent to selling 100kilos of cocaine, witch is like a few million in drugs. When these 3 vials are only 300.00 each making these drugs worth under 1000.00 dollars!


LSD on a blotter paper carrier medium typically is marked so that the number of doses ("hits") per sheet readily can be determined. When this is not the case, it is to be presumed that each 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch section of the blotter paper is equal to one dose.

In the case of liquid LSD (LSD that has not been placed onto a carrier medium), using the weight of the LSD alone to calculate the offense level may not adequately reflect the seriousness of the offense. In such a case, an upward departure may be warranted.

Let me get this straight, this is telling me if I drop a vial in a 50 gallon barrel of a liquid solution (water or alcohol). That the whole 50 gallon barrel will become the base of my sentence?
There must be some sort of reasoning behind this... Could someone please help me? How is Liquid LSD measured? And if there has ever been a case in Federal court that has won. Using the actual amount of "pure lsd" in determining the time in prison..... Im looking for recent cases as well, anything that will help me would be wonderful. Any knowledge or information to links would be great as well. I’m just trying to understand how this charge is so large. And what people have done that are in my same boat.
