Default Paying Fines Out Of State

My question involves an arrest warrant from the State of: Louisana

Hello. A few months ago I was issued a ticket in the state of LA for following too close. This ticket does not require appearence in court. I had forgotten about the ticket until now and I can't pay the fine until Thursday, which is payday, and also my court date. I can't mail the payment until tomorrow, and I plan on using two-day mail with signature confirmation. I am planning on paying the fine only since on the ticket it states the payments postmarked after the court date must include a fee. This will obviously be postmarked before the court date. My question is if they don't get it until Thursday pm (when my appearence is in the am) can/will I still have a warrant issued? Do I have anything to worry about? BTW, I live in Alabama. Thanks.

Why can't you send a check for delivery on Thursday, when the check should be good?

Or call the court and get a continuance of your court date? Either way will work. The problem is that most courts will not accept a personal check, it has to be a money order. The clerk can tell you.

Heh. They take my checks, as long as they say "Law Offices Of...." I sometimes forget that other people don't have that on their checks.

That's what I hope to do. I plan on sending it tomorrow with 2-day signature confirmation. My appearence is at 8:30 on Thursday, and they probably won't get it until later in the day. That's what is worrying me. Should I just call them tomorrow and tell them that is what I am doing? I also checked and the ticket itself says personal checks, just no cash or temporary checks. Thanks for your advice.

Definitely call to let them know the check is arriving.
