    Default Landlord Is Selling

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Maryland

My parents have a two year lease that will not end until February 2010.
The landlord is getting divorced and the rental house is going up for sale. Will the new owners have to honor the lease? What are the rights of the tenant in a situation like this?

Your lease will continue after the sale. Often you will be asked to sign a document acknowledging that your rent is now due to the new owner, and how rent is to be paid to the new owner (usually that means a new name and address for your rent checks).
