My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
I was accused of shiplifting at Bloomingdales today. When I was walking out through the door with my parents, I was stopped, and they found a jacket that wasn't paid at my brown bag.
Both me and my parents have spent 2000$ there today, and that was the only item that wasn't paid. I have explained to them that I just forgot to pay for it, and they said that I was intentional, and they saw me through the Cam.
At the end, they agreed to release me, but I will have to pay a 500$ for the ticket, plus can never visit bloomingdales again, and they have taken all the giftcard I have. They said they are sure, me and parents would return everything, and earn the giftcards. And they knew it I do it all the time.
I was liked, I have never gotten any giftcard until today. And the person said, then ask your parents to return everything tomorrow if you want. You are not going to get back the gift cards.
So my question is:
- Is there any way that I can avoid the 500$ charge
- Will this incident leave me any negative impact towards my credit hisotyr or sth?
- What will happen if I ignore the 500$ charge
Thanks everyone for answer
