Default What's The Best Way To Remove An Unwanted Guest

i let my friend stay with me for a little while so he could find a new place, now hes been in my apartment for over 30 days, he took my debit cards, and has been doing drugs. i already made a police report for the debit cards, im just waiting on video evidence, but i dont want him in my house anymore. heres the problem, or the other problem. i cant make him leave cause hes been here for so long, as im sure some of you know. so what would be the best way to legally make him want to leave, for example, constantly move all of his things to the front door, poop next to where he sleeps, make some of his things disappear or break. maybe telling him that i already filled out a police report will be enough, but i dont feel like that one would work.
    thanks

There are thousands of things that would make me want to leave - use your imagination. Just don't pick anything that:

    1) could be construed as theft (police reports work BOTH ways), so it's best that his stuff doesn't come up missing

    2) could be construed as criminal mischief or expose you to a civil suit, so it's best that his stuff doesn't come up broken either

    3) doesn't violate the health code (you're his landlord; until he's out he legally lives there, so pooping on the floor or creating any sort of unlivible condition gives him opportunity for damages against you - don't go there - also no rotten food all over the place, etc.)

    4) is likely to have you put on an involuntary 72 hour mental health hold at your friendly neighborhood psychiatric facility (ixnay on the pooping)

I'm not going to advocate for guerilla tactics, BUT, you don't have to supply things like food, toilet paper, plates, cups, bowls, microwave, furniture, television, cable, phone, couch, - all the stuff he's mooching. Electric and water and flushing toilets are a must however!

Follow the eviction laws of your (undisclosed) state.

Such an arrest could help your case, but isn't going to speed up the eviction process or change the requirements. It would get him out for a while until he bailed out.

aardvarc, u the man. So just that Im sure, can I make a police report for him doing drugs, and they can arrest him or something because, I can say that Ive seen it with my own eyes, because about the debit cards the police asked if I saw him take them. I see there are some pills here. I don't use drugs so I don't know whats what by looking at it, I don't want to touch anything. Hes been doing coke, but, is it legal to snort zanax if you have a prescription for it. Again thanks for your help.
