My question involves towing laws for the State of: Illinois
I parked my vehicle in a private apartment complex visitors parking spot. I come back to find that my car had been towed. The reason being that after 9 pm, all visitors must have a visitors parking pass displayed in their vehicles if they are to park in a visitors spot. I was not aware of this, nor was the resident I was visiting. There was a sign that said visitors parking, but, there was no additional signs saying that visitors needed a parking pass after a certain hour. Let's take into consideration this was my first offense ever. I paid $150 and retrieved my car.
Does the association have any legal obligation to post that kind of sign? And, if so, should they reimburse my fees?
