in January 2002 my wife and i purchased a home. my wifes brother who's a real estate agent handled the purchase and the mortgage docs. the whole nine yards. when signing docs he said we should finance the home only under my wife name, his sister, to get a lower rate due to me having bad credit.
he had me sign some docs which i signed not knowing what i was signing.
turns out i signed a quit deed with out knowledge.
fast forward almost 4 years. i am filing for divorce and my wife informed me of what i have done when discussing division of the property.
is there any way to fight this? she wants to give me nothing using the quit deed as leverage. we have over $200,000.00 in equity.
also, can i file a fraud case against her brother?
