My question involves guardianship in the State of:North Carolina. I was granted Durable POA for my husband in July 06. He is on a voluntary 90 day stay at a VA nursing facility. He became angry with me and had his check sent to his mother and she claims she opened an account in his name.
He became sick and after getting better he tried to reverse his decision but the doctor said he was still "a little confused". When he spoke to his mother on several occasions, she refused his request to send the money to his home and has been giving him different excuses. My husband has Primary Progressive MS and I have been taking care of him for the last nine years and his family would never visit or rarely called. The bills aren't paid and things are getting shut off even as we speak. What should my course of action be? I also have Medical POA.
