My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
I received an MIP a few weeks ago and when the officer asked my name I said "Mike" when my true name is Michael. He then ran my birthday and name to find out my age and said that there was nobody with the name Mke ....... with the birthday that I gave him. He then asked if there were any other names i could be inder so I said michael and this came back as a match and that i was underage. The operator then gave him my drivers license number which he recorded wrong by leaving a number out. So the ticket has DL number that is missing a number and the name on the ticket is Mike, not Michael. The birthday and the last name are correct however, is there any way out of the ticket? What if I just didn't show up for court?
