My question involves a traffic accident in the Province of: Alberta
I was waiting for my son to get out of school and I took a stall about 6-9 feet away from an alley way. As my son was coming out I decided to reverse, get out of the stall and proceed to pick him up since we were tight on time. I look behind me, shoulder check, check mirrors and proceed to reverse looking backwards until I hit a car behind me. It was a toyota that was lowered and was maybe 12-18 inches from the back of my truck with no visibility of it to be seen. With my parking spot the car was partly covering the exit to the alley way (maybe a foot). I was wondering if I am partially to blame for this driver being so close behind me leaving me no room to back out of my stall or I am partially to blame for not noticing the car behind me.
