Unhappy Will I Have To Pay Credit Card?

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Wisconsin
My divorce judgement states that my ex has to pay a credit card company and he hasn't. They have been calling me and I let them know this. I just received notice to go to court for this company. Will I end up paying for it anyway?

It's entirely likely if the card is in your name.

You can sue your ex for it later, though.

He already has owes me and the court has an arrest for his warrent. That has been out for a year already. He is not a very law abiding citizen. Unfortunately for me I am. I have two girls and don't have alot of money. Do you think I should just claim bankrupcy?

Credit Card companies don't honor what it says in divorce decrees. If you owed the debt prior to your divorce, they can and will come after you and have every legal right to do so.

If you don't go to court, they will get a default judgment against you.

We can't comment on the possibility of bankruptcy since we don't have complete info re your debts & amts., your assets, etc. You would need to talk to a bankruptcy attorney.
