My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia

I got a protective order against my ex bf two months ago which he appealed and a date is yet to be set. A month ago he was found guilty without a reasonable doubt and was sentenced with 2 years probation and has to take anger management class.

Everything I said in court was true, and I know he deserves it, and I have no intention of going back to him because he trully has a anger management problem. But at the same time I am feeling a little guilty with messing up his criminal record and about him not being able to leave the state since all his family is in a different state and he really doesnt have anyone to help him in this state. We have been living in Virginia less than a year.

Questions:
1. Will his criminal record be damaged for all his life?
2. Workwise how does this affect him?
3. Does his probation mean he cant leave Virginia?
4. Can I do anything to fix all this mess? Can I say that everything i said was true but im willing to forgive and let him move on with his life?

Maybe they are stupid questions, and the opposite of everyone here, but I really want to know.

Thanks
