My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Indiana.
I'm about to be promoted in a fast food restaurant. However, they are telling me that in order to be promoted I will have to drive 30 minutes out of my way to another "training" store and work there for a few weeks.
The reason I chose the store I did is because I live so close (3 miles), but now they want me to drive way out of my way, and we all know how gas prices are; and fast food doesn't pay great even if you get into management. Do they have to compensate me for the drive? I wouldn't consider it time spent "working", but that's just crappy if they don't. I'm hoping someone knows about some awesome loop-hole b/c I don't think they have to, but I'm just checking.![]()
