My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania
A false charge of threat and harassment in a store was filed against my daughter by a girl that works there who doesn't like my daughter. This girl already has been warned by the police to not have any contact with my daughter.
I know this is a false charge due to the date and exact time of the accusations that were filed with the police, I was with my daughter and, along with two other individuals that can be used as witnesses if it goes to court. I spoke with the police officer that received the complaint and he said that my daughter would be receiving a letter stating when the court appearance would be if it goes to court. I also asked the officer to pull the surveillance tape if it goes to court.
What exactly are the laws regarding filing a false police report in PA and what, if anything can be done about it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
