My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: IL/PA
I would like some advice.
I travelled from Chicago O'hare to Philly via United. I had jewelry in my checked in baggage which I realized was stolen when I retreived the baggage. I filed a polica complaint - they didn't do anything, called United - they asked me to file a complaint with TSA, I filed a complaint with TSA and they are saying that there is no evidence to prove that TSA opened any of my luggage.
I need some legal advice - I'd like to know what my rights are. If I sue for compensation, anything I can do.
I have written to everyone United, TSA, the mayor of Chicago and Philly.
I have checked on blogs and I've seen numerous blogs and reports that show that O'Hare is notorious for this kind of thing. The jewelry that I have lost is worth at least $6000/- and I know I shouldn't have checked it in but isn't there something that says that just c'z I checked doesn't mean that its ok to be stolen? All of the jewelry was of sentimental value and gifts that I received when I got married.
Please help and advice.
Thanks.
