My X Wife applied for SSI, and of course they turned her down. She is 51, and has Encephalitis,
(bad), depression, Myatral Valve Prolapse, and has been sick 24 hrs. per day since she was 21 when she contracted Encephalitis in Ukraine.

She has been to the county emergency rooms 3 times, and only county Dr’s. have treated her. We (I did. She has phone phobia) called a county place that helps with appeals. The woman said that she has to be treated much more for all of her health problems, (a larger paper trail) but she only has 60 days to get it done!

Was wondering if she should just get (if she can) A Lawyer at this point? Was wondering if Lawyers have Dr’s and Physiatrists working with them that don’t lie to keep her from getting benefits? She is mildly retarded, (I think from Encephalitis) and the county dr. lied, and said she is normal, and refused to talk to me at the time of the testing. Even her case worker from SS said (before the test) that he should interview me before her. He didn't. Almost seems his mind was made up before seeing her.

Sorry for the length of this. Thanks,

Frank
