My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of California.
I was clocked in lane #3 doing 86 miles per hour by two motorcycle CHP officers that were parked by the side of the road.
First, I may have been doing 72 or 73 when I was in lane #1 (right? the lane closest to the median?) I never drive over 80 and honestly couldn't have been because the road curves a bit too much for comfort as it is.
I was changing lanes, braking for exit, so I already had taken my foot off the accelerator before I was in lane #3.
Second, of the two officers, the one with the radar stayed on the highway while the other gave me the ticket so radar was not available to review.
How do you challenge a ticket in this manner? I have no proof other than my lack of any ticket in 20 years and my word that I cannot under any circumstances navigate my car at that speed on that road.
I'm sure both officers will show and testify. Do I hire a lawer? Do I give up a fight and go to traffic school? Sincere advice appreciated.
Molly
