My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: PA
I look at my credit report at least once a month. I just noticed 2 new reports from a collection agency. They were 2 different doctor bills. I called the col agency, and they said these bills were from 2001 and 2004. I told them I had no knowledge of these bills, and they should have been paid by my insurance, and I asked why they just now came to light and they would not answer me. So, I called both doctor offices direct and asked them why they had waited several years to notify me of these bills, and they told me that their office had just called this collection agency complaining that they never collected on these bills. She said the collection agency has had them for years. Anyhow, since she called them complaining, they must have dug around, found the bills, and put them against my report. I paid the doctors offices direct for these 2 bills. I then called the collection agency and told them that I wanted them removed from my report since they never informed me of these bills and waited all these years and just stuck it against my credit. Who/Where can I turn to get them to remove this from my report? Don't they have certain procedures that they have to follow before they can put it against my report. Thanks.
