My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: Michigan
Im writing this on behalf of my mother. She used to work for the county. Helping with juviniles. One winter morning she was going into work and they didnt clear the ice/snow off the walk way. She slipped fell and hurt her back severly. She couldnt work after that so they fired her.
Since her injury she hasnt been able to work and is on a bunch of pain killers. Workmans comp denighed her claim and she is trying to sue. Her lawyer advised there isnt much of a case because of her age (which I feel is descimination in itself, She's 66). Anyway, they tried to settle for 2000.00 its been over 3 years that it has happend.
So ever since then the family has had to chip in and help with her finances. She has a court hearing soon. Would it help her at all if I were to go and help plead her case?
From what I understand theyre saying that since she was going into work and not actually working that they are not liable to pay a claim. All the medical records were in her favor.
Any other suggestions would be helpful/apprecaited.
