My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Georgia
An account from several years ago had resurfaced on a loan that had no papers, etc signed for. Anyway, my business, personal and savings accounts were cleaned out today and all accounts frozen. I called the bank, they told me there was a court order from a local GA attorney to garnish my accounts.
My question is how can they legally do this without serving me civil papers to even prove the debt is mine and for me to even defend myself. I have received nothing from this attorney and now I and my family are in serious trouble with our money just vanishing and no way to even pay anything. Any help is greatly appreciated from you all.
Also, my spouse has her salary direct deposited into my personal account, they took that too. She has no connection whatsoever witht his account and was originated before we were married.
Thanks so much for any advice.
