    Default Jailed For Trespassing

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Washington

On August 1, 07, my son (age 20) rented an apartment with him the only tenant listed on the lease. On August 10, 07, his brother (age 17) moved in and has resided there on a continuous basis with the landlord having full knowledge. On May 30, 08, The police showed up at their door with the landlord and told my younger son that he had to leave. My son refused and the police arrested him on the spot for criminal trespassing.

My question is: Isn't the landlord obligated by law to evict a person who has been residing in a dwelling for X number of days? My son's been there for almost a year. Has he been denied proper due process?

BTW, my son who was put in jail turned 18 Oct. 11.

    Thanx

And the rest of the story is what? Why was your younger son told to leave, and why didn't he follow the instruction?

The rest of the story is that he's lived there for nine months and it's my factual belief that this isn't Cuba. I'm just asking a simple question. If the law requires a landlord to follow some sort of due process concerning a guests stay after so many days, weeks or months, why can't U just say so?
