Default Theft By Taking In Georgia

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia

Hello, I was just arrested for felony theft by taking, in the amount of $1400.
I have never been in trouble before. I read that the sentence could be 1-10 years, but because I have no previous record, can the judge just give me probation? Or do they often do pleas down to misdemeanors? Thank you.

Consult a local lawyer for information about local plea bargaining and sentencing practices, and the applicability of any state sentencing guidelines. I find references to Georgia's sentencing guidelines, but I haven't found a copy online.
