Exclamation What Steps Do I Need To Take To Get Emancipated?

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: colorado

    -This is from my friend-

For the past few months now i have been trying to become self sufficent from my parents because of the fact they do somethings that would be grounds for me to be put into foster care, i have two brothers one is two years younger than me and one who is a year older. they both are in to smoking pot and the same goes for my mom and dad, my dad who is always gone or hiding away in his room i suspect he is doing more than that. my mom abuses prescription drugs and drinks while taking them. my house is also a host home where we have a 29 year old mentally disabled guy living with us. He has a temper that does scare me, my two bothers are the same way they everyonce in a while will get into these fights where knives or other items will be used and my mom and dad don't really take action of this which i think causes things to be worse more than better so What i need to know is how do i build a strong foundation on getting emacipated before i have to bring my parents into this?

Your state does not have a specific procedure for emancipation.

It is my understanding that if you can show that you are, with the real or implied consent of your parents, living apart from them and are financially self-sufficient (i.e. you are paying your for own rent, food, clothes, medical care, insurance, transportation, utilities, school expenses, and all other incidentals, yourself) that a court MAY recognize you as emancipated. There is no guarantee.

If your safety is in jeopardy you would be much better off calling CPS than you would be trying to build a case for an emancipation which is very unlikely to happen. (Judges look for reasons to deny emancipation.)
