    Default Email From A Possible Patent Holder

    Hello,

    I have a website were I sell products and I received an email from a person that stated that they had a patent on one of the products I sell. I buy from a distributor who buys from a manufacturer in China.

    The person wants me to forward then the information about who supplies that product to me. I do not know if this is serious or if they are looking to sell the same product and wants to know who my supplier is.

    What should I do?

    This could be somebody who wants to market the same product trying to trick you into giving up your supplier. Be cautious.

    That is why asking them to send the letters to your attorney works 9 times out of 10.

    Strange is the number of letters your lawyer DOESN'T get.
