I work for a tribal casino in Oklahoma. Due to the nature of the work, there are often variances in our daily reconciliation.
It is common practice for employee drawer shortages to be taken from their paychecks.
Is this legal?
Also, our time clock is set up on 15 minute intervals. Our supervisor demands we clock in exactly 14 minutes early for our shift. Even though we are technically "on the clock" we are not receiving compensation for those 14 minutes. This amount of time is small, but when considered over a year's time, they add up. We have been threatened with disciplinary action if we do not comply.
