    Default Possible GTA

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas
this happened in texasI was involved in a auto accident on 12/31/07. i was driving my friends vehicle at the time. at the time i was under the beleif that he was the owner of the vehicle. ilater found out it was his parents vehicle. they threatened to press theft auto charges if i didnt pay them 1000 dollars which i paid to them. tody i got a call from their insurance company asking about the event. i was wondering if the parents can charge me with grand theft auto to avoid having the insurance company pay the other party. any help is much appreciated

they have not charged me i was worried that the parents might be angered by having their rates raised because the insurance had to pay damages

It's a little late for them to be attempting to file for GTA charges against you.

You have a receipt for the money you paid, which presumably went to cover the deductible for damages to their vehicle?
