Florida Emancipation

I have a couple of questions regarding the subject.

*I am 17 years old female and have been living with my father in Florida for two years now. I am currently in college as I took the GED. I also have a full time job, earning $13.70/hour.
I have a 24 year old boyfriend, and I recently had an abortion.
I want to be emancipated but by father does not want me to.

My mother, who lives in Texas, and has my legal custody would sign the emancipation for me*


*Do I need to have approval from both of my parents in order to be emancipated?
*In case that my mother can sign for me, can she fill the paperwork for Florida emancipation or would I have to move to Texas?
*Is there a way I can get self-emancipated?

Ordinarily yes, although in your situation the approval of your custodial parent may be sufficient.

**In case that my mother can sign for me, can she fill the paperwork for Florida emancipation or would I have to move to Texas?

She can't file a petition for you in Florida, as she is neither a resident of Florida nor your custodial parent.

**Is there a way I can get self-emancipated?

Not under Florida's emancipation statute.
