    Default Arbitration Avoided

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Illinois

    Good Evening

I have been a Postal employee for 24 years, Dec 21, 2007 I received a Letter of removal for some Questionable scans, on "delivered parcels" !!! Also, after, a year and a half of constant complaining; I wrote a costumer a short note, and mailed it. The note said I would try to do a better job, and I pointed out a few areas I was going above and beyond.
I have been through the Postal Service Discipline program. Which is where my question begins. I was to go to an arbitrator, but my union really scared me with losing my job if I went through with that process, I agreed to a 7 day suspension, and no back pay. Heres the problem, I was off the clock(on their request) when I accepted this deal, for 12 weeks!!! Since the punishment was a 7 day offense, legally do I have any recourse to get back pay for the other 11 weeks? I would like someone out there to point me to the right people. My union is not that helpful. Thank you!

You agreed to no back pay, so you don't get back pay.

You mentioned that you accepted the deal - I see no recourse. If anyone could help you, it would be your union but it seems you already talked to them.

Mr knowitall ..... your response was spot on! you are a know it all, which also means, you lack the ability to put a face, on the problem, no sensitivity, or compassion! I will call you Hal from now on. My question is how does an employee get taken out of a pay status, before his guilt is assessed or argued? People go postal, because a large company has the power and money to reduce you to a homeless beggar! This is still america?? right?? I agreed to 7 day suspension and no back pay, however I never agreed to no back pay for the 12 weeks they had me off, and as we speak The only thing I signed was that I recieved the paper work...... which is very vague! Any chance I can go civil suit?
