    Default Crossing Over Left Center

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Texas My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Texas.

I was taking my daughter to school today. I pulled in to the left of the road and was going to drop her off because it was safer than crossing the road for her. There was a truck in front of me parked the same way.
I got out of the car the car was off. my daughter was out of the car. a cop walks up to me when I was on the side walk and ask me for my drivers license and insurance. I was like why. she said she was pulling me over for driving on the wrong side of the road. I was like OK !!!. now mind you her cop car had her lights on about 200 yards in front on the right side of the road. I told her but I am parked. she said that I had to cross that line in order to get over here. so I was driving on the wrong side of the road. Mind you I was not speeding and at the time there was about 10 cars around. doing the same thing she just could not catch them. She told me that there was someone there that got hit in a wreck last week because they did not look when they pulled out. this is in a school zone. can anyone help me fight this ticket ?
There are no lines on the road at all

You can try to fight it, I suppose, but I don't think the judge will look too favorably upon your story.

The officer is correct, you did have to cross over and drive a bit in the wrong direction to park where you did, which creates a hazard.

In many towns, it's legal to park facing traffic in residential zones but I feel sure you were in violation based on your description of the circumstances. Considering that driving on the wrong side of the road is a 'major biggy', I think it's important that you try to get it reduced to an illegal parking violation. You may not be able to but it would certainly be worth the effort.
