Default J-1 Visa Waiver, No Objection Letter

Hello! I am currently here in the USA with an internship program, and I hold a J1 visa. My visa will expire in July 08.I do have the 2 year home residency requirment. I have already started the No objection letter process. The Department of State received all my documents on March 31 (and it shows this on the website). The no objection letter was sent today from my home country's embassy (Costa Rica). My boyfriend is here with me and he is actually american (though he used to live in Costa Rica). I know that I need to get this waiver in order to be able to marry him and be legal in the USA. I have some doubts and hope you can help me.

    1. What is the estimated time for the Department of state to give me a final desicion about my case once they have recieved the no objection letter?

    2. Should I wait until I get the waiver in order to get married? Or can we go ahead and file our marriage?

    3. What is the process to get married to an american citizen? About how long will it take until I can work legally? What documents do I have to present in order to get a work permit?

Thank you for any help you can provide me. I can sincerly say this process has been a hard and all the internet forums have helped me understand how to proceed with this process.

    Thank again!

    Sincerly,

    1) There is no established timeline.

    2) You can marry now.

3)a. Getting married is pretty effortless if you're going to skip the sugar-coated nightmare scenario of a giant wedding. Go to the local courthouse, apply for a marriage license, pay the fees, rent an officiant, and you're done. Sign on the dotted line!

Then, your shiny new hubby needs to file form I-130 and form I-480 on your behalf.

3)b. You cannot work until you receive your work authorization and Green Card. That could take a while. My friend from London waited nearly a year after his wedding in Kansas to get those.
