My question involves injury or loss that occurred in the state of: Florida
I sustained an injury at the end of last year in the state of Florida. As I was walking through a parking lot, a car began backing up out of a lane which I did not see. I was crossing the parking lot lane, the car began to back up (the defendant claims he was driving 5mph) he approached me from the right and struck my right side, knocking me to the ground, at which point I hit the ground really hard and hit my head, losing consciousness. The paramedics arrived, brought me to the hospital and ran tests, including a CT scan, which was clear, thankfully. I can remember my head was killing me and I got really depressed because my seizures worsened. I went home that night but continued to suffer from substantial amounts of pain throughout my back, legs and head for many months. My pre-existing neurological disability, depression and migraines worsened as a result of the accident and I have been seeking continued medical treatment from a chiropractor, pain management specialist, neurologist and psychiatrist for these symptoms. The neurologist did a lumbar CT scan and it showed a soft tissue injury and several herniated disks. My treatment with the chiropractor and pain mgmt doctor has since ceased several months ago and at this point, I have been waiting for my attorney to contact me and advise me of what will happen next.
I'm very frustrated because I was injured substantially, humiliated in front of others when the accident occurred and I have been left in the dark with no sense of what to expect in this case...
Can anyone provide me with some insight?
