Thanks for the reply, and a doctors point of view (We'd much rather deal directly with the patient. lealea1005), and I've stated and will restate, I don't refute, not refuse to pay the bill. The problem is that the wife is being sued with me under the "Family expense doctrine" when what was received had "nothing" to do with the family as a "unit" as put forth in the statute. the family got "Nothing out of the proceedure, how then could it be a "Family expense such as food, gas, phone, water....?

The "family necessity doctrine" would be even harder to prove. What is happening is they are taking advantage of the fact I can't afford an attorney to look over all their mistakes, and I'm not sharp enough to look at statutes that a lawyer may give me and form an answer to the court, so I came here.

This is not about money, or whether or not I owe, I've said I do, these people are under-handedly adding the wife because she has the money right now. Some may think that’s ok, and that’s what I deserve, or that’s just the way the game is played, but this is not a game to me.

Is there anyone that can help me form an answer using the "family expense, or "necessity" doctrine?

Thanks again
