My question involves a roommate in the State of: California
My name is on the lease. I have a written month-to-month agreement with my roommate -who's not on the lease.
Problem: She's only been here a few days (paid the monh's rent and deposit), but it's not working out. I'm more than willing to return her deposit after she moves out.
What other legal responsibilities do I have if I serve her with a 30-day notice even though she hasn't lived there 30 days?
BTW, her background check came back with 35 known addresses, 5 aliases, and 1 criminal conviction. Never again!
