My question involves divorce in the State of: Florida...

My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years. He's cheated on me, he's emotionally, verbally, & mentally abusive, negligent to our 2 year old, and extremely beligerant. Last night I walked in to find him with another woman while infront of my son. I have witnesses to the abuse, as well as police reports and have been in some therapy but had to take a break due to money issues. I don't have much right now, and need to know how to go about getting alimony, child support, and to keep him and his family away from my son.

In FL you can file for custody, CS, etc without filing for a divorce. However, after only 5 years, do not count on a court awarding alimony. You will need to find a full time job to support yourself and your son.

You can file pro-se, or hire an attorney. If you want to fgile pro-se you should get a consult with an attorney first, you can get a low cost consult by cqalling the Fl Bar Lawyer Referral Service at 1-800-342-8011.
