    Default Can I Be Emancipated

My question involves guardianship in the State of: Wisconsin.

I'm just turned 17, and my family is crazy. My mother is a drunk, and she tries to act 16, and be best friends with my sister and her friends. My sister has some of the crazy genes in her, and she has something wrong in her head where she has to make everyones life a living hell, and she gets thrills out of it. My dad is okay most of the time, but he is still married to my mom so i have to deal with her. She is always telling me about how I'm worthless and stuff, and when i try to get jobs she wont take me there or give me rides home so i cant keep them, and she is always saying how she was living on her own when she was sixteen so i should have moved out a year ago. is that permission to move out, and if i did is there anyway they would have to give me money to support me, or would i have to finish school, and have a part time job and deal with it all by myself?

Ask your parents if you can move out, if they say yes then yes you can move out. If they say no then no you cannot.

If they say yes, ask if they will support you, if they say no they will not. Then it looks like you won't be moving out.

    In short - NO.

Wis. does not even have emancipation statutes...

Emancipation means that you are already self supporting - you have a place to live of your own and steady employment to generate income. An adult does not need their mom to drive them to and from work - they figure out how to do it on their own.
