My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: California
I just got a traffic violation ticket this AM for speeding. The officer clocked me at 39 on a 25 MPH zone. I only went down this road a few times and never noticed that the speed limit was 25. It was clear to me that it was a speed trap after I saw the officer waiting in his parked patrol car near the end of that road. He pulled me over and ticked me for violation code 22350 after he followed me making two two turns.
After looking at the ticket more throughly, the officer had written a street name that is one mile from the location I was at and it wasn't even the street that I speed through or ever been on in my life. I had two co-workers saw me pulled over by the officer at the correct street.
I know I am guilty being careless about not seeing the speed limit sign, but I am not guilty according to how the ticket is written.
Does anyone know if the court will dismiss for such an error on the ticket in California? I have learned about paper contracts and the officer did sign the line stating that it was true and correct. In this case, it wasn't true and correct. Shouldn't this ticket be void? I also read that it can be amended by the officer or the order of a judge. Anyone has feedbacks?
Thank you in advance,
EH
