Default Ex Left Without Notice And Was On Lease

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Washington

My ex moved out behind my back, which we both are on the lease. He did not give notice to me or my landlord. Can I take him to court for being responsible for any part of the rent left on the lease? I heard that one state was for up to three months. Not sure if this would apply in my state. He moved out on Feb 1, 2008, and our lease isn't up till the middle of September.

    Thanks
