The following was stated by a citizen during the citizens comments portion to an alderman at a city council meeting, is there slander involved in your opinion?
I come before the city council tonight and the people of Warrenville, to inform you of the significant neglectful behavior of Alderman David Schultz. I have contacted Mr. Schultz in a letter dated 14 October; about some concerning issues and he choose to blatantly ignore my simple question relating to the obligations of the alderman. Upon this great betrayal of this elected representative, I have now taken upon myself to examine the Alderman’s prior record and discovered many derelictions of duty to the people of Ward 2. One, as evidence in city council records dated 17 January, 07 February, 22 February, and the 2nd of May, the alderman said very little of any substance or nothing at all other than to adjourn the meeting. Secondly, In July and August he failed to attend to city council meetings. Mr. Schultz is quoted as saying that he makes decisions independently of the city council and I must agree with him on that, the members of the city council decide to show up and represent their wards, he does not!
I decree to the People of Ward 2 how long should it be.. before we stand up to this abuse, betrayal,… and to be selfishly disregarded by a person of this aptitude, for the absolute greatness of Ward 2 to be achieved,..
I beseech the city council and the ethics committee to utilize the evidence that I have presented and to advance to an impeachment hearing; Alderman Schultz must step aside for the best interests of the people of Ward 2, for the benefit of Warrenville, so that our future will entirely belong to us!
