My question involves a roommate in the State of: California
I served my roommate a 30 day eviction notice. 23 days have passed and she is supose to leave in exactly 7 days. None of her things have even remotely been touched/ packed. I am so scared she is not going to leave on time!
I found a new roommate, and this person would prefer to move in ASAP. (Already signed a rental agreement that states the move in date to be the day after eviction date) Problem is, I am no longer communicating with my present roommate. Things went down real bad and I wish never to speak to this person again.
I basically signed a rental agreement with the departing roommate less than a year ago and do not live in rent controlled housing. My landlord does not know of this "subleasing" and would prefer leaving him out of it.
Do I have the right to call and cops and have my roommate forcefully taken out of my house and/or change the locks?
