My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

So I went for a walk a couple nights ago, on a golf course nearby where I live. An officer pulls up and says everyone out here at this time of the night is subject to a ticket involving Attempted Criminal Trespass, because there has been vandalism in the area. Me and the officer got along fine, but I still came out of it with a ticket. I called the court today and they are saying the ticket will be around $569.00.

Now, I have no doubt that I was trespassing, but this seems a little severe. I was only walking on the path, thinking over some things. I had no alcohol/drugs on me or in me, no weapons of any kind. Should I just go to the court and say how I was just taking a late night walk?

My record right now has, I think a speeding ticket on it from January, but besides that nothing else.
